Sock anatomy

Technical ski socks,
built zone by zone.

Ski boots and snowboard boots press, rub and trap sweat in the same places. Scroll to see how each zone deals with it.

01Boot shield

Goodbye shin bang

An anti friction cushion runs down the shin, right where the boot tongue presses. Less rubbing, fewer bruises, more runs.

Zone
Shin
Why
No shin bang, less friction
02Impact cushioning

Cushioned where you land

Extra padding under the heel and sole soaks up landings, chatter and long traverses, and adds a warm layer under your foot.

Zone
Heel and sole
Why
Softer landings, warmer feet
03Instep airflow

Breathes on top

A ventilated knit over the instep lets sweat escape. Dry feet are warm feet, even on the coldest chairlift.

Zone
Instep
Why
Dry feet stay warm
04Zonal support

Knee high, stays up

Elastic zones hug the calf and arch so the sock never slides down or wrinkles inside the boot.

FAQ

Ski and snowboard socks, answered

What are the best socks for skiing and snowboarding?

Knee high socks in a technical wool blend, with cushioning on the shin and heel and a snug, wrinkle free fit. Avoid cotton, which holds sweat and turns cold. Our snow socks tick every box and add artwork by independent artists.

What is the difference between ski socks and snowboard socks?

Very little. Both need to be knee high, warm and cushioned. Ski boots are stiffer and press on the shin, so a boot shield matters; snowboard boots are softer and take more impact under the heel. Our snow socks are built for both.

Are these merino wool ski socks?

They are a technical wool blend rather than 100% merino: 30% wool with polyamide, polypropylene and elastane. Like merino ski socks, the wool keeps you warm even when damp, while the synthetics dry faster, last longer and keep the fit. Soft on the skin, not itchy.

Should ski socks be thick or thin?

Thicker is not warmer. A sock that is too thick fills the boot, cuts circulation and leaves your toes cold. Our snow socks are midweight with cushioning only where you need it: shin, heel and sole.

Should I wear two pairs of socks in my boots?

No. Two pairs squeeze your foot, slow blood flow and create wrinkles that cause blisters. One good pair of wool blend snow socks is warmer.

Can I ski in normal or cotton socks?

You can, but you will feel it. Cotton soaks up sweat and gets cold, and short socks let the boot rub your bare shin. Knee high technical socks keep you warmer, drier and blister free.

How do I stop shin bang in ski or snowboard boots?

Make sure your boots fit and are buckled properly, wear one knee high sock with no wrinkles, and choose a sock with shin padding. Our boot shield adds an anti friction cushion exactly where the tongue presses.

How do I keep my feet warm when skiing?

Wear one pair of dry wool blend socks, put them on just before your boots, dry your boots overnight and do not overtighten the buckles. The instep airflow in our socks lets moisture out, so your feet stay warm.

Are they good for ski touring, splitboarding and freeride?

Yes. Instep airflow keeps your feet dry on the way up and the impact cushioning protects them on the way down.

Are they for men or women?

Both. Our snow socks are unisex and come in two sizes covering EU 36 to 46.

How do I wash ski socks?

Machine wash at 30ºC, inside out. Do not tumble dry, bleach or iron. Air drying keeps the wool and elastic zones in shape season after season.

Do they make a good gift for skiers and snowboarders?

Definitely. Every design is made with an independent artist, so they are the gift nobody else on the chairlift will be wearing.

Which size should I choose?

S/M fits EU 36–41 and L/XL fits EU 42–46. Ski socks should be snug, so if you are between sizes pick the smaller one: extra fabric wrinkles inside the boot.
